Waistbeads are a centuries-old form of feminine adornment rooted in African cultures and traditions. Worn close to the body, around the waist, they have been used across generations for beauty, sensuality, celebration, personal expression, and meaning.

At Red Butterfly Sanctuary, we honor those roots while leaving room for you to make waistbeads your own. A strand can hold an intention, mark a moment, be worn as all-day lingerie, or simply make you feel beautiful whenever you catch a glimpse of it against your skin. The meaning belongs to you.

Each strand is handcrafted with its own combination of color, texture, and personality. Our tie-on waistbeads are made with glass beads, unless otherwise indicated, and high-strength, water-friendly braided fiber for long-term, everyday wear. Wear just one or layer together all the ones you love.

Our standard love strands are approximately 50 inches long and can be tied to fit measurements up to 50 inches. Simply position your waistbeads where you want to wear them, tie them to fit, and trim away the excess. If you need additional length, Extra Love strands are available at the same price.
